Event Description
The Annual Turkey Shoot Regatta is a fun regatta open to all which is an important fund-raiser for the Hospice. This grand event typically attracts over 80 entrants from all over the Chesapeake Bay. There are two days of racing in which boats may elect to sail with , or without spinnakers, and boats will be placed in Divisions based on ratings and type of boat.
Saturday will consist of a triangle and/or windward- leeward drop mark course. Saturday, Divisions will be placed into Fleet A and Fleet B, based on rating, with the latter racing a shorter course. Sunday will consist of a pursuit race.
Mooring is available in Carters Creek for visitors who find it easy to get ashore using the free water taxi service. This is a very enjoyable weekend which has both excellent racing and a great social scene. Come and join the fun - its a great way to round out the season!
