Son-of-Shakedown

The second RRYC cruise of the season will be an overnight trip to Onancock for all interested members and friends. Weather cooperating, this is a perfect short trip for shaking off the winter blahs, whether you are an old cruiser or ready to try your first cruise. The basic trip will be to sail over to Onancock on Saturday, the 10th of May and back home on the 11th. For those who wish to extend the fun and the journey, there will be an optional raft-up in Mill Creek off the Great Wicomico on Friday evening the 9th of May. C’MON WIND will be in Mill Creek around 16:00 to count noses, check passports, observe anchoring practice and pass out finger food. At no time in particular on Saturday, the fleet will cross the Bay and assemble near Onancock in the creek of the same name. The fleet will return to Irvington and vicinity on Sunday.

For those who haven’t tried Onancock, there is plenty of anchor room or usually available slips at the town dock. Reservations may be made at the town dock by calling the Harbormaster at: 757-787-7911 during normal business hours. The town is one of the last unspoiled little villages on the Eastern Shore, a delightful walking tour of old houses and friendly people. Hope to see you all there.
