As in previous years, this regatta is for Optis, Sunfish, Lasers,Laser Radials, and 420’s.  Last year, everyone had a great day on the water, and our dock is a great place for adoring parents and grandparents to watch their racers!

You may also look for information on registration in the May Headway.

Mary Parker Moncure Vaden
Junior Sailing Award

Burwell Vaden established a special Junior Sailing Award in memory of his wife Polly Vaden, who died June 26, 1999. The award includes a permanent trophy to be kept at RRYC. The trophy is engraved with the name of the junior sailor who best meets the criteria for the award, and is presented at the RRYC annual meeting in November. The recipient also receives an engraved award to keep.

Criteria for the award are sportsmanship, leadership, and participation, as well as proficiency in sailing classes, races, and other related sailing events. Helping children reach their full potential was a goal actively pursued by Polly, and this award in her memory is a meaningful way for us to remember her and the ideals she espoused.
